Claudio AmbrosiniThe 30th edition of the prestigious music critics’ Franco Abbiati Prize has awarded the 2010 prize for a work of absolute novelty to Claudio Ambrosini’s Il killer di parole (The killer of words).

The motivation reads as follows: Claudio Ambrosini’s Il killer di parole, produced in Venice at the Fenice, which commissioned the work: a “playdrama”, an ironic and surreal tale disturbingly relevant in these times of globalisation. The very unusual theatrical climate, which in its ungraspable mobility eludes any single definition, is created by among other things the fascinating orchestral composition, by the unrelenting and absorbing succession of hugely varying musical inventions, marked in an unmistakable manner by the personality of the composer.

The award giving ceremony with take place on 25th May at Villa Reale in Milan.
