Antonio Brioschi, 12 SinfonieThe Milan school of symphonic music: a new publishing project

The series “Archivio della sinfonia milanese” aims to gather together the 18th century symphonic music of Lombardy with a view to promoting the study, performance and knowledge of it. The project brings together Casa Ricordi – Universal Music Publishing Ricordi srl, which will publish the critical edition, the Università degli Studi di Milano (the Music Section of the Department of the History of the Arts, Music and Theatre), Sony BMG Music Entertainment Italy spa and the Associazione Culturale Atalanta Fugiens.

On 22nd September as part of the MITO SettembreMusica music festival will be performed at the Basilica di San Simpliciano (17.00 p.m.- entry: free) Symphony in G major, Symphony in B flat major and Symphony in D major by Antonio Brioschi, together with Symphony No. 1 in C major by Andrea Zani, Symphony No. 3 in B flat major by Fortunato Chelleri and Symphony in G major J–C 39 by Giovanni Battista Sammartini. All the compositions will be performed by Atalanta Fugiens under the baton of Vanni Moretto.
