“Dal Paese dei rami casts a visionary look over a distant past and upon the human beings that populate it. But that past reveals itself to be just like our present… We have sought a common chord, an emotive resonance. The music of the recited verse and the instruments came into being in a reciprocal and taut dialogue. If the voice then, is the sound of the thought, the music is the immense, terrible, natural setting in which it occurs. An instrumental introduction seems to generate each element: telluric forces and upheavals, obscurity and blinding lights, winged flight and dreadful abysses, even the voice itself, sustained by transfigured archaic harmonies, a fragile thread proffered towards the heart of he who listens.” This is how Silvia Colasanti and Mariangela Gualtieri, the author of the text, present Dal paese dei rami, the world premiere of which takes place on 15th February in Turin, RAI Nuova Musica. The work will be performed by the Ensemble “Geometrie variabili” of the RAI National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Francesco Pomarico.
