2010 marks the 10th anniversary of the death of Franco Donatoni and already a number of commemorative performances of his works have taken place. We recall just some: Cloches on 16th October in Birmingham; Arpège on 25th in Parma; and LeRuisseau sur l’escalier on 21st November in Cologne. The first few months of 2010 are filled with other commemorative events: the performance of Arpège on 2nd February in Lisbon (Gulbenkian Foundation), followed by the Italian premiere of Esa (in cauda V) on 22nd February in Milan with the Filarmonica della Scala conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen (also on 23rd and 24th); on the 27th February American premiere for Lame in Seattle; then, on the 18th March in Tokyo the Japanese premieres of Che, Clair II, Duetto n.2, Luci, Luci III, Small, Small II and The Heart’s Eye. April will see performances of Eco, Spiri and Tema (2nd), in Milan, with the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali, conducted by Pascal Rophé, and In cauda II (23rd), in Munich, with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, conducted by Emilio Pomarico. Finally, on 30th May in Prague, the national premiere of Tema with Ensemble intercontemporain conducted Pierre Boulez.
