World premiere in Bolzano on 3rd May for Matteo Franceschini’s EGO, a triple concerto for violin, cello, piano and orchestra with the Trio di Parma and the Orchestra Haydn (which commissioned the work) under the direction of Trisdee Na Patalung.
The concerto is made up of 4 parts, in each of which the composer develops different representations and interpretations of the mirror, the object that inspired the work. In presenting the piece the composer has in fact explained how in Western culture the mirror has always been a recurrent and vital symbol. In mythology above all the mirror is not just an ordinary metaphor. Its mystery, right from the time of the Greeks, has embodied the enigma of illusion and truth, of self and the other, of identity and indifference.
EGO will be performed in Bolzano (3rd May), Trent (4th) and Merano (5th). A final public rehearsal will be performed in Milan on 2nd May at the Auditorium in Largo Mahler.
