Girogio BattistelliAfter more than 200 performances throughout the world Giorgio Battistelli’s music theatre work Experimentum Mundi has won the “Herald Angel Award”, the prestigious prize awarded by Scottish music critics to the best performances in the course of the Edinburgh International Festival. Giorgio Battistelli received the prize during a ceremony that took place on Saturday 5th September at the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh.

All six performances of the work were sold out, with audiences greeting Battistelli’s inspired score with wildly enthusiastic applause. The festival programme also featured the performance of Fair is Foul, Foul is Fair, a symphonic work commissioned by the Festival and performed by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra at the Usher Hall.
